Instrumental Trans-Communication

I.T.C., or Instrumental Trans-Communication to give the full title, has been around for 100 years or so and is quite simply the use of electrical or mechanical devices to allegedly communicate with the spiritual plane.

Although the term I.T.C. is not well known, it includes various methods of communication under its umbrella, the most well known being Electronic Voice Phenomena (EVP) that is covered elsewhere on this site.

Another popular process that is gaining ground in recent years is something known as the ‘Schreiber method’.

The ‘Schreiber method’

This process, discovered in 1985 by Klaus Schreiber, involves the use of creating a feedback loop between a video camera and TV to create what can only be described as pulsating blue mist on the TV screen.

In this mist, images of people, animals and other objects can sometimes be seen and recorded by the video camera.

In basic terms, the loop works in the same way as two mirrors placed opposite each other, their reflections stretching off to infinity, otherwise known as the 'Droste Effect'.

With the Schreiber method, the feedback loop is created by pointing a video camera at a TV screen that is switched on but not linked to an aerial and then connecting the video camera output to the TV, therefore creating the loop electronically.

By careful posting of the video camera in front of the screen you can obtain a pulsating blue mist in which these images can be recorded.

As part of our ongoing investigation into the paranormal, we commenced our own research project using the ‘Schreiber method’ in August 2007 and we’ll post our results in this section as we progress.
